This incredible band of first class musicians is a cool project which decided to take Salsa down in the streets of Lima and make it return to its origins. Their mission is cultural, not in the pretentious sense but, rather, to show that beyond the fun and flavour inherent in the Salsa genre, there is a rich platform with more dimensions to captivate. Sabor y Control has earned the respect and admiration of music lovers and fans of Latin rhythms around the globe. They are inspired by great artists such as Hector Lavoe and by Willie Colon and always offer us an explosive cocktail of Salsa.
Their latest release ‘Cruda Realidad’, contains “images” of quirky characters who have been the inspiration for their songs. The helplessness, the abuse of women, madness, prostitution and drugs are some of the topics covered in this material, always to end on a positive vision to adversity. With over ten years of being formed, “Sabor y Control”, in this album recognize their personal and musical evolution, establishing itself as a hard Salsa band that is creating their own material! —“It is perhaps the most personal album we’ve done,” says its director Bruno Macher —

In this album they managed to capture raw lyrics and dramatic stories, the brunt of the streets of their city, always with an optimistic view towards life. Its strong beat and sound that characterizes the orchestra has not been shelved but instead has been significantly strengthened, moreover, this new production with the participation of two outstanding musicians: Alex Torres on guitar and Huamaní Angel on trumpets, is without doubt one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
